The past
We had our ups and downs throughout 2021, but with the year ending we want to do a recap on the moments and stages leading to having the best team in South America.
Ending 2020 with the Autumn Circuit Playoffs and a 10th place overall we were not happy, we did some changes for a better 2021 and it worked. We qualified for the ALGS Winter Circuit Playoffs on the 1st week of the circuit and had high hopes for both the playoffs and the Championship. But even with a good team and having done well in the past few months we had to undergo a change and went to the ALGS Championship 2021 with a last minute roster.
This team, which also included the future Pro League regular season MPV Elysium, managed to get a 6th place overall and was a stepping stone to reach our goal. Being the best of the best in South America.
We had to do more. After the Championship we took a short break from Apex. We took a step back and waited for the right opportunity. We wanted to secure the best possible team to end the year on the best note possible and have a strong base for 2022.
The present
An opportunity came along shortly after, the previous championship winners were looking for a new home and officially joined Team Singularity on September 8th before the Apex Pro League was announced. We knew how good Besk9 and artiNN1 played, and we knew Elysium from the previous team, it was a no brainer.
The Apex Pro League regular season was a series of 6 rounds, each one consisting of 6 matches, making it a total of 36 games. We played every weekend against different groups for overall points with the top 5 teams of the regular season making it to the Playoffs.
We stomped the regular season, racking up 1st places in round 1, 2, 3 and 6, and 2nd places in round 4 and 5. We finished the regular season in 1st place overall with 66 total points, looking very strong and ready to beat on international teams.
We made a statement in every round of the Pro League, adding the most kills in our groups for 5 out of 6 rounds and having by far more kills than any other team in the league. Elysium, artiNN1 and Besk looked truly unstoppable.
We were ready for Playoffs and earlier EA had planned the Pro League Playoffs to be played offline in January, bringing the best 40 teams together from all over the world. We were all excited to finally go back to LAN, meet the players and give an awesome show for the fans, but unfortunately the LAN event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 new variant omicron.
The Pro League playoffs are now being divided in regions to avoid latency disadvantages and we will play against the best 20 teams in South America and a prize pool of $125.000 USD.
The squad showed up in a big way. Dominating everything in 1st place from smaller tournaments like The Witness Series Championship or Dream International Invitational by Axis Games to now, our most recent accomplishment: 1st place in the ALGS: 2021 Split 1 Pro League – South America. We are all very excited for the ALGS Global Series Playoffs in January and we can’t wait to see the squad be crowned kings again.
