Parting ways with Godsmilla

POSTED BY Webmaster March 5, 2021

Today we are officially parting ways with our Rocket League player Leon “Godsmilla” Mares.

After being a professional Rocket League player for 1,5 years and being a substitute player for the RLCSX winter split, Godsmilla decided to leave Team Singularity on good terms. Leon is looking forward to competing with a new team in the future.

We wish Leon “Godsmilla” Mares all the best for his career and are thankful for everything he has done for Team Singularity and accomplished under the green SNG banner!

“I would like to thank Leon for everything he has done for SNG and the team in the last 1,5 years. He formed both SNG rosters and led them to great success in the RLCS and other events. I will never forget the moment we promoted from RLRS to the RLCS. Winning the TEI-Major was one of my highlights as well and I will keep those memories in my heart forever. It’s always sad to see a player leave but I wish him all the best for his future career. I am excited to see Leon competing again and can’t wait to watch him playing against Singularity anytime soon!”

Jonas ‘vel’ Schaffrick, Rocket League team manager, Team Singularity

“I’d like to start by thanking Atle, Jonas and the rest of the SNG squad for the past 1,5 years. My time with SNG has truly been a bit of a rollercoaster. I’ve achieved my greatest goals in my competitive career thus far with them, while also having been at some of my lowest points of my career. Nonetheless, I’ve always felt at home in this organization. And who knows, maybe I’ll get the chance to work with them again in the future.
I’ve decided to leave SNG as my desire to compete is as high as ever and I can’t stand sitting on the bench, not being able to further pursue my passion (despite the memes being absolutely hilarious). That being said, I’m really grateful for Atle allowing me to chase my dreams and terminate my contract. I am really looking forward to competing with my new team and I promise that this isn’t the last time you will hear of me.”

Leon ‘Godsmilla’ Mares

“I’ll miss Leon greatly; he has charmed me the last 1,5 year with his heartwarming smile and laidback personality. I wish the best for Leon and his future within Rocket League esports, and therefore we’ve mutually decided to part ways.
So much have happened within the last 1,5 years, and I’m happy that we’ve had this journey together. Thanks for this time Leon, take care, best of luck and hopefully our paths will cross again sometime in the future”
