Team Singularity is the new RLCSX Winter The Grid
Champion!
After an unfavourable start into the second week of The Grid our Rocket League
team was able to bounce back in the 2nd day of the tournament.
In the first round, we faced Team Dignitas, the former EU champion of the 9th
RLCS season, and sent them home with a 3-1 series score. After losing 2 out of
3 games in yesterday’s group stage this win was a big momentum boost for our
players.
We used this boost to sweep Team Endpoint 3-0 to move on to the semi-finals
where we had to face Galaxy Racer. In a close best of 7 series both teams tried
their hardest to advance to the grand finals. We were able to win two close
overtimes and closed the series one goal ahead in game 7 (4-3 series score).
It was time for the grand finals! On the other half of the playoffs bracket Giants Gaming made their way to the last series of the day with beating Fadeaway, Team BDS & Redemption.
Our Rocket League team played their best in front of almost 60.000 concurrent viewers on stream and could win the first three games including one 7:13 min overtime. Giants Gaming bounced back with a 4-1 win in game four. In game five hibbs score the only goal after a counterattack to win RLCS The Grid and a 7.500$ prize pool for his team!
