The largest esports Academy in the World

POSTED BY Webmaster June 8, 2021

Team Singularity’s smart academy keeps growing and has recently surpassed 6000 academy members. We had a talk with the CEO and CGO about the current state of the smart academy, our integrated path to pro setup and the future of the academy.

With esports continuously growing and the belief that live tournaments will be back soon as we are moving towards the end of the Coronavirus Pandemic, a lot of competitive players and teams will be looking to secure a future. Whether they stay as a free agent or join an organization that can offer them the ability to make this a full-time career path. Team Singularity is the first organization to provide a full-service academy programme for players to test themselves with a skill-based chance of getting a professional through a clear path to pro.

The academy is currently only operating in Fortnite and FIFA, in which the academy members are working hard to complete the 40 missions set by SNG. These missions get more difficult as you progress, and the final level will be what would be expected from their professional players. An example of one mission in our FIFA academy is that the player must achieve a perfect 30-0 record in FUT Champions Weekend League. If you are unaware of what Weekend League is, you have a maximum of 30 matches where you can match against all different ranges of players from your region. You can be matched against new players all the way through to the top professionals.

The path to pro in the individual games is developed internally in Team Singularity with the most competent players and management staff to ensure that players able to complete the 40 missions in their path to pro deserves a professional contract for their efforts.
To make sure consult with our provider Pluck.gg after developing the individual path to pro for our esports programme’s in regard to smart tracking of results and player growth with as little manual work involved as possible.

“The academy is a great way to see the upcoming or hidden talent. Many organizations just go off a social media account and who has the most followers whereas we have the ability to track every match you play. Our auto generated system allows us to evaluate and rank each member with a “skill ranking” and “divisions/executions/quality”. This allows us to see their current ability, as well as their projected ability if they continue at the rate they are.” Commented Curtis Bottomley, CGO, Team Singularity

With Team Singularity passing 5000 academy members last month and already passed more than 6000 one week into June, we can only conclude that there is a very high demand for other games to be introduced by the community. We would love to open as many games as soon as possible for everyone, however we believe a steady progression will be best. Our academy members are our highest priority as we offer training scenarios and daily support which is run in our Discord.

“I joined the academy with nothing to lose. With Fortnite being a game I love and spent many hours learning to become better, I have been grateful for the opportunity to showcase my talent and graduate into the main Team Singularity roster at the start of this year. I enjoy working with a professional team and I am working very hard to progress both mine and SNG’s future.”

With the likes of Valorant, Content Creation, CS:GO and Rocket League on the horizon, we are excited to welcome as many new faces as possible and help develop the players to become some of the best worldwide. With the addition of being able to book coaching slots with professional players & coaching, it is a great way to start your journey to the top.

“It’s amazing to follow and track the development of the academy members, and I’m thrilled for the next update to be pushed as it will enhance the academy experience for all members tremendously.
We have many great initiatives yet to be integrated within the academy, and I’m excited to share these as our roadmap comes alive one step at the time.”

Atle S. Stehouwer, Founder & CEO, Team Singularity

We also asked our partner, Pluck.gg, to comment on the current state of the academy and platform + what to expect in the near future and rest of the year.

“We are super excited to announce the fully revamped and very much improved Pluck Esports Platform (PEP). Our goal with the new PEP is to empower all teams, small or big, new or old, with an intelligent cutting-edge toolbox that essentially enables them to grow on a vertical and horizontal scale, resulting in multiple robust recurring revenue streams.

We believe that teams need to stand on their own feet without having to rely so much on sponsors and investors all the time. We also believe that gamers should be given a fair and serious chance to excel on their own terms by enabling them to join their favorite team (or create their own) and focus on what they believe is their path.

Gamers can join a team as fans, streamers, content creators, amateur gamers, aspiring professional gamers, and many more new roles within esports. The new PEP is fully agnostic and does not constrain teams to a certain use case, we are leaving it up to the teams to decide what they want to focus on. It could be an academy, running tournaments, offering professional coaching and mentoring services, and much more.

Pluck GG is today paving the way for a real revolution in esports that essentially will transform small esports teams into massive global sports organizations never seen before in the esports industry.”

Erik Lydecker, Pluck Founder & CEO
